This week's Real German Cooking Challenge with Christina from the Amiexpat blog is a dish from the coast of Germany.
It was a great dish to make this week, considering that white asparagus was one of the ingredients, and we had some left over from last week's recipe!
Krabbenragout (Shrimp ragout) was another nice, light dish - perfect for this wonderful Spring weather that we have been having!
I was surprised to see beef broth in this recipe - I would have normally have thought that chicken broth would be used with shrimp. But the beef broth gave the dish more flavor and greatly added richness to the cream sauce.
I only had frozen peas and carrots on hand, so that is what I used! I think that it turned out fine this way - and the orange of the carrots added to the color in the dish. Very light and yummy!
As you can see - we had this dish with brown rice - pasta would have been nice also.
I was surprised that this dish is only 4 Weightwatcher points per serving! Yea!!! (Not including the rice or other parts of the meal).
Cook with us next week! Check out Christina's blog for more info on the recipe for this week!
